I am a postdoctoral lecturer and researcher in the Visual Computing group headed by Holger Theisel at the University of Magdeburg. In 2012 I was awarded with the Forschungspreis der Fakultät für Informatik (research award of the faculty).

1999-2006 I worked as full-time researcher in the Computer Graphics department at Max-Planck Institut Informatik in Saarbrücken, from where I received my Ph.D. (Dr.-Ing.) in 2005.

2006-2008 I did a Post-Doc in the Geometrica project at INRIA Sophia-Antipolis, France, funded by the German Academic Exchange Service / DAAD.

My research interest focus on geometric modeling and scientific visualization including modeling with polygonal meshes, splines, vector fields, surface parameterization, shape editing, shape analysis, remeshing.
